Suriya and Jyotika have renewed their wedding vows two decades after their 2006 marriage, sharing an emotional video from the private ceremony on Instagram. The couple marked their 20th wedding anniversary with a Christian-style ceremony attended by their children, Diya and Dev, along with family and close friends.
The video shows Jyotika entering the church in a white bridal gown with son Dev walking beside her. Daughter Diya is seen alongside Suriya as Jyotika approaches, while Suriya appears visibly emotional watching her walk down the aisle. The couple then exchange vows in front of their family and guests.
Suriya's brother Karthi was also part of the celebration and appears in candid moments from the ceremony. After the vow exchange, family and friends showered the couple with flower petals as they stepped out of the church.

Jyotika Calls Their Vow Renewal 'The Sequel'
Jyotika titled the celebration “THE SEQUEL” and described it as marking “20 years of love and war.” In her accompanying note, she made clear that the ceremony was not intended to portray their marriage as perfect. Instead, she reflected on the adjustments, sacrifices, understanding and selfless affection that have shaped their relationship over two decades.
Her renewed vows focused on happiness, gratitude, health, motherhood and the friendship she shares with Suriya. She also wrote about valuing him as her equal, confidant and closest friend, ending her message by looking ahead to their next 20 years together as an imperfect couple with a strong understanding of each other.
Suriya and Jyotika married in Chennai on September 11, 2006. They first worked together in the 1999 Tamil film Poovellam Kettuppar before their friendship developed into a relationship. Twenty years after their wedding, Diya and Dev's involvement in the vow-renewal ceremony gave the anniversary celebration a distinctly family-centred character.
